The McKinney lab is requesting 1 year of funding to (1) finalize their exciting data showing that modulating a downregulated sodium channel subunit could correct Purkinje cell firing and ataxia; and (2) to advance their preliminary data showing a down regulation of mGluR1 and to test if modulating mGluR1 can rescue or slow down the ataxia.
